Sad news. Ed Baker passed away suddenly Dec. 8, 2009 .
Ed graciously and generously hosted a classcrits gathering during the AALS annual meeting in 2008 at his New York City home. His writings engaged and challenged prevailing free market economic ideas. Any canon of critical legal economics should include his 1975 Philosophy and Public Affairs article, The ideology of the economic analysis of law. More recently he brilliantly analyzed the problems of prevailing ideas of the market in the media. North Carolina Law Review June, 2000 Essay An Economic Critique of Free Trade in Media Products.
